Crossfield’s Pete Knight Days is Gearing Up
On March 4th, Crossfield Rodeo Society’s Sponsor Appreciation Dinner was a welcome break from winter for many supporters of Crossfield’s Pete Knight Days.
Held annually to acknowledge sponsors, the event drew over 200 area business people and guests in from the cold to dine, dance, and attempt to outbid each other for the right to put their company logo on the bucking chutes at this summer’s rodeo. Fashioned after the Calgary Stampede Tarp auction, the live auction’s top bid was $3100, by the Oliver Hotel, Crossfield. Other successful bidders were DBC Contracting, EnCana Corporation, Chinook Country Law, Plastifab, Agroplow and Crossfield Registries.
Pete Knight Days has been held on the 3rd weekend in June since 1977, with a Rodeo and dance on Friday, a Parade, Rodeo, Demo Derby and Dance Saturday, and a Sunday Car Show on Railway Avenue. Headlining this year’s Saturday dance is recording artist Justin Amendt.
The cutest person in attendance was Colt.
